We hand-selected each of the 7 teas in our Single Origin collection for their unique qualities, with each of them originating from a specific region and farm. They are grown at specific elevations, which helps give each of them their unique flavor profile. Each of them are harvested at specific times of the year, with careful picking and processing techniques that have been passed down by many generations. These teas are typically produced in small quantities with limited supply, and do not contain any flavoring or extra ingredients, allowing the quality of the leaf to truly shine!
Single origin teas are a great way to experience the different flavors, aromas and health benefits that the tea leaf can provide - similar to different wines that a simple grape can produce. Below is a short description of each of our Single Origin teas, their origination and their tasting notes. We hope that you enjoy them in your continued exploration into the vast world of tea!
Loose leaf tea is better for you than bagged tea. Loose leaf tea utilizes whole tea leaves, fruits, herbs and spices allowing the full flavor and health benefits of each ingredient to steep into your cup. For bagged tea, the tea leaves and ingredients have to be chopped into tiny pieces in order to fit into a small tea bag. Whenever bagged tea is chopped up finely like that, it gives the leaf more surface area. And with that surface area comes more space for the health benefits and flavor to be released immediately into the air. Loose leaf tea, on the other hand, is not chopped up like that. It stays whole and therefore holds onto all of the flavor and health benefits until it unfurls and releases it into your cup. Not only do you get stronger flavor and more natural health benefits with loose leaf tea, but you also eliminate the waste of a tea bag, string, staple, etc making loose leaf tea better for you and for the environment. Once you go loose, you never go bagged.
Brewing loose leaf tea is just three easy steps. First things first, you’ll need a mug, hot water, your loose leaf tea and an infuser/steeper. Your infuser can be anything that will strain the leaves from your hot water. If you have a tea ball, tea basket, tea pot or French press, any of those work great.
We also offer a few of our favorite brewing utilities. Tea filters are our version of a DIY tea bag that are perfect for when you are on the go. For these, you simply fill them with your favorite loose leaf tea, fold over the top and drop it in your mug. The bag will automatically seal when it gets wet, so you can walk out the door and toss it in the garbage or compost while on the move.
The Brewmaster is our crowd-favorite brewing accessory. Our Brewmaster’s innovative technology makes brewing loose tea simple: just scoop your tea, add hot water, steep, and place the bottom of the Brewmaster on your mug! The Brewmaster releases your tea into the mug while holding onto all of the tea leaves. Added bonus: it is microwave safe and dish washer friendly!
Maui Mango is by far my favorite! This is a full-flavored fruit tea packed with citrus and mango, and it has the perfect amount of sweetness so you don't have to add any sweeteners. I love that you can actually make out the ingredients in Tiesta Teas tea blends as they are not ground down or artificially flavored. I highly recommend this tea blend and Tiesta Teas!
This is the ONLY tea I've ever tried in my life that actually helped relieve stress and gave me a good nights sleep. And I've tried many other teas off the shelf. Wow! I couldn't believe that after drinking 2 cups of tea I felt the tension melt away and got one of the best nights of sleep I've had in a long time. This stuff seemed to have the power of a prescription drug. Without the harmful side effects of popping a pill. I'm a fan of these guys. I'm finally a believer. Thanks for putting together this awesome blend!
Caffeine free and DELICOUS! I had to give it a try. I can't get over how fragrant this tea is and it tastes as good as it smells. I love the chunks of fruit that come to life when you add your hot water. I feel I have to add nothing else to this tea in order to enjoy it. I look forward to trying some of the other flavors available!
