ASSAM, INDIA: The Hunwal tea estate is located in the Jorhat district of the Indian region of Assam, located south of the Brahmaputra river. Much of the Assam region sits at an altitude of 1000-4000 ft. above sea level, giving the region cooler than average temperatures compared to other regions of India. These cool temperatures along with high rainfall accelerate the development of very rich, strong qualities in the black tea leaves.
